George III Mahogany Armchair

0.00

A fantastic chair. A splendid example of the chair-maker's oeuvre.  There are so many little details, so many aspects to this chair that appeal:  it is a well-drawn example throughout -- from the overall design to the well formed serpentine crest rail; the splat with its punched ground in the uopper section and its subtle carving; the interlacing of the splat; the serpentine shape of the arms; the scrolled end arm terminals and the enrichment the carving provides all make for a unique and well made example.
