This chair has a patination and color that is irresistible.  Note the wear and patination of the middle of the back, where two hundred years of sitting has worn the finish and warmed the visage of the chair. The same with the arms and hand grips at the arm terminals.  While a chair can often be admired, it must pass the test of comfort - how often do we buy an antique  chair before actually sitting in it? This one is actually, and surprisingly,  rather comfortable.
